IDP is an industry leading multi-disciplinary practice employing over 70 professionals engaged on a range of diverse projects across the globe. IDP has principal offices in Coventry and Manchester and a particular specialisation in housing related projects.
IDP’s aim is to create and regenerate buildings and spaces that enhance the lives of the people that inhabit them. They take pride in their role as regenerators and place-makers, bringing forward responsible and innovative ideas and empowering people to live and work in an environmentally responsible manner. There are few projects where this isn’t more true than this one.

The Emporium was built by Shaylor Group with the new build Tower completed (slightly later) for the 2018 student intake. Shaylor then ran into financial difficulties, failed to finish the listed buildings and were replaced by QDTS in mid 2019. Shaylor Group subsequently fell into administration.
Copeland Wedge Associates based in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter will be the Consulting Civil and Structural Engineers, particularly focused on making the design building on a tight site, and integrating the structure with the adjacent historic building.
